Sunny day ideal to plan a 800m wireless point to point link
Airfield needs to link up multiple buildings
Planning for outdoor wireless links can be a challenge. Even using planning tools it is easy to get wrong. Line of sight is important as is planning for obstructions that could come into place after the link is deployed. Think about trees, vehicles etc.
Choosing the right equipment for the links for the required distances, speeds and stability is not a simple task.
With a nice bright sunny day today, it was ideal to get out onto the field and look at all the link options and test with devices on a 2m pole, powered by battery and get some idea of what is in play. The clear day meant visibility was good which always help with setup.
The final solution will be 20-25m in the air but todays tests established how and where the links should be.
Bring on the 19th Feb when my team will be out installing the system. I best get everything configured ready to install to save some time on the day.
Do you need a point to point wireless link? or do you have areas you need to link up where cabling is not possible? Get in touch and let’s have a chat, I’m always happy to give guidance.
